Terms of sale describe our policy regarding orders, payments, processing, shipping, and returns.
Important Note Regarding ALL Motor Freight Shipments (You will be notified at the time your order is placed as to the shipping arrangements.) (Disregard this note for UPS deliveries, etc.)
Motor Frieght is required for heavy or oversized orders:
The delivery person requires your assistance in unloading the order. Any additional services, such as two-man delivery, inside delivery, lift gate, or address change are not included in the price of the freighted item. The cost of these additional services varies from city to city. They usually cost between $35.00 and $150.00 extra. You may purchase these additional services directly from the freight carrier when delivery is scheduled. It is a good idea when you make your appointment, to have the freight company call you 30 to 45 minutes before delivery so as to avoid having to wait for the driver to show up.
The customer or person representing the customer must be at the delivery address to sign for the shipment. This is to verify the shipment was not damaged during transit and and the number of packages on the freight bill matches what was delivered. We have no recourse with the freight companies for damages not brought to the driver's attention and noted on the receiving ticket at the time of delivery. If absolutely necessary the customer can make prior arrangements with the freight company to leave the shipment at the delivery address without an inspection signature. Keep in mind, if the shipment arrives damaged and without your physical inspection at the time of delivery, you have waived your right to any damage claims. Payment There are two ways you can check out:
1. This method may be used for a preliminary order under $5000 with no obligation to buy. It allows adjustments prior to payment processing.
2. You may submit a preliminary order contingent on a shipping quote, pending a review to help complete your order, or to verify special arrangements in advance.
4. Your payment will not be accepted for processing until your final order total is verified and presented to you for authorization to proceed.
Place Order, Pay Later (processing fee optional, no sales tax outside PA)
1. Use this method for all orders over $5000, or if you just want to avoid card processing fees or skip the payment process during checkout for any reason, and with no obligation to buy. We will treat your order as an inquiry until payment arrangements are made.
2. It allows adjustments prior to payment processing and provides us with the minimum required contact, shipping and order content information to process your request. You may submit a preliminary order contingent on a shipping quote, pending a review to help complete your order, or to verify special arrangements in advance.
3. This method may be used for any offline transaction or any form of payment... with the stipulation that funds must be verified or cleared through our bank before your order is processed.
4. Credit card payments under $5000 may be processed separately via our online Service Desk or via telephone and will include the 2% processing fee.
5. Otherwise, orders are typically paid by mail or wire transfer. Pay the smaller amount, not including the 2% processing fee. Make checks payable to Playground Equipment Supply. Call for wire transfer instructions. Consider paying by mail or wire if you do not want to wait 5-10 days for a personal or business check to clear. Overnight a cashier's check for fastest service.
Order Processing Once your order has been placed, our customer service department will verify the order to be feasible and the information provided to be accurate. We will contact you promptly if we notice a potential problem. Your order will be processed factory direct as soon as it is verified and payment is confirmed. Service and Technical Support This is where your online experience begins with us. All service and support at Playground Equipment Supply is handled by the owner, Jim Barber. Jim has a lifetime of professional experience in Architectural and Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Construction. This includes years of custom swingset design and build experience as an independent contractor. Jim is approachable on a friendly and informal basis even for professional contracted services if you have the need to go beyond our generous free customer support. As you browse our site, you will find the invitation for personal phone service always open and all the built-in conveniences we can think of. We are not at all policy bound, ANY reasonable request you may think of will be entertained if it seems feasible.
Playground Equipment Supply Advantage As a third party seller, we represent you, the customer, and this is the 'Playground Equipment Supply Advantage'. Aside from the obvious, Playground Equipment Supply's vision and primary function is to provide customers with the special kind of personal service and technical support usually found only at your local small business hardware or specialty shop. Retired in 2005, Jim now brings his expertise and wholesale contacts together in a clearinghouse for online shopping that is unlike anything we have seen online. We are able to run a very lean shop from our home office and offer lower prices for the same items found on other sites. We also are able to combine the products of multiple sites and brands into one factory direct clearinghouse. There are some sites with special products and design features we don't have access to and cannot compete with. If you don't find it here, contact us, we may be able to direct you to a competitor more suited to your needs.
Limitations Playground Equipment Supply has no authority to make exceptions to the policies of our wholesale suppliers and manufacturers. Any rights or warranties normally offered to customers by the manufacturer of a product are passed on to you the customer; and we will additionally use our dealer privileges on your behalf and as your agent.
Incorrect/Missing/Damaged Items The customer has 7 days from the date the order was delivered to file a claim. Incorrect and damaged items must be returned. The method of the return (i.e. call tag, COD, cross shipping) and the release of the replacement is at the discretion of Playground Equipment Supply.
Returns Any return must have proper authorization from Backyard Funsite in advance. If a return is required to correct a mistake on the part of Playground Equipment Supply, we will take ownership of the problem and cover any added costs for return shipping and restocking. All returns are subject to the policies of the original shipper/supplier.
